Hotels update

If you would like to stay at the Courtyard Marriott (a hotel that is pretty close to the wedding, although it's a drive from downtown), I just found out that you can find cheaper deals on Expedia than the hotel gave us for a group rate... I will call the hotel and see if they will lower the rate, but just wanted to let everyone know.

Book soon-- the wedding is only 10 weeks away!!

More gift ideas

If you do not see something that you're excited about on our registries (if I knew how to blog, you would be able to click on "registries" and link to ours. Instead, you'll have to scroll down...), we have some other ideas for gifts.

We enjoy trying new restaurants and returning to old favorites in Boulder, and would love to receive gift certificates...

We love wine.

Another gift idea is some artwork for our apartment.

As practicing weekend warriors, we'd be excited to receive camping gadgets and/ or gift certificates to REI, or any other outdoor store.

Update

The big weekend is fast approaching! If you haven't booked a hotel yet, I would recommend doing so fairly soon, since we have been told by lots of people that our weekend is a big wedding weekend. Please see the links below for information about hotel rooms.

Another lodging option: Boulder University Inn (boulderuniversityinn.com) is a motel right downtown. Nothing fancy, but great location.

We are also in the process of finalizing the weekend plans. As of now, here is the itinerary:

Friday late afternoon and evening:
BBQ at Holen and Thayer's, downtown Boulder. Please join us! More information to come.

Saturday: Spend the day enjoying Boulder: go to the Farmer's Market, take a hike, wander down Pearl St...

Our wedding and reception will be at 5:00pm at A Spice of Life Event Center.

Please let us know if you have any questions about accomodations, Boulder attractions, or plans for the weekend.

We cannot wait to celebrate with you!

Registry

We had a great time registering a couple of weekends ago.

We are registered at Crate and Barrel (www.crateandbarrel.com), Macy's (www.macys.com), and The Pampered Chef (www.pamperedchef.com).

Accomodations (Part 3)

In addition to the Mariott and the Boulderado, we have booked a block of rooms at the Best Western. Located about a mile and a half from the wedding site, the Best Western is close to the CU campus.

Group code: call 800-233-8469 and reference code "SMITH"
Group Rates: $109 for a room with one King bed

Even though it is still 7 months (from tomorrow!) away, the weekend of our wedding is a busy weekend in Boulder. The staff at all of the hotels recommends making reservations early. Please let us know if you have any problems booking, or would like more information on hotels!

Accomodations

There are plenty of places to stay in Boulder. We are in the process of reserving blocks of rooms at the Best Western and the Marriott.

In the meantime, we have reserved a block of rooms at the Boulderado, a great historic hotel downtown. You can check out the website to get information, (www.boulderado.com),but to get the group discount, you need to make a reservation over the phone: 303 442-4344. Reference the "Smith/Vos wedding hold" to receive the discount!
The rates with the discount are:
Traditional Queen: $194
Deluxe 2 Queens : $224
Boulderado King: $244
Classic King: $269
Elegant 1 Bedroom Suite: $329
Presidential Suite: $359

Another option is to rent a room or a cottage at Chautauqua. Chautauqua is a historic area of Boulder that is located right at the base of the Flatirons. It's one of our favorite Boulder spots, and you can rent cottages for varying lengths of time. Please see their website: www.chautauquaboulder.com

More to come soon... if you are interested in Chautauqua or the Boulderado, I would recommend booking soon, as I think both might fill soon.
